White tuxedo jackets are a difficult beast to successfully pull off, but Benedict Cumberbatch—nominated for Actor in a Leading Role for The Imitation Game—looked smashing in his two-tone tux. Perhaps his best accessory was his pregnant wife (the two just tied the knot on Valentine’s day), Sophie Hunter, wearing a crimson Lanvin gown.
Eddie Redmayne
Another newlywed (pictured with wife, Hannah Bagshawe), Eddie Redmayne donned a navy-blue-and-black tux by Brit label Alexander McQueen, who also dressed Bagshawe. The winner for Actor in a Leading Role for The Theory of Everything looked adorable—and we loved his effusive thank you to his wife during his winning speech.
Neil Patrick Harris (with husband, David Burtka)
Host Neil Patrick Harris walked the red carpet in a grey Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo and tie, which was a breath of fresh air in the sea of black. His husband wore a white dinner jacket and black trousers by Calvin Klein.
