The essential guide of where to go apple picking

Fall is all about apples!

Whether you’re in the mood to pick a harvest and try out new recipes, sit down for a glass of cider, or to simply walk around an orchard, we’ve got you covered.


Here is a comprehensive list of farms and orchards across Canada:


Ontario:


Applewood Farm


12416 McCowan Road, Stouffville, ON


When: September to August, Wednesday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


The Applewood Farm grows apples, pumpkins and strawberries. An admission fee of $10 per person is required, and each ticket includes a complementary pumpkin or squash.


Dixie Orchards


14309 Dixie Road, Inglewood, ON


When: August to October, Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


The Dixie Orchards offer an authentic farm experience for the whole family. You can get lost in a corn maze, take a wagon ride around the farm, or even wander through sunflower fields. 
 

Chudleigh’s


9528 Regional Road, Milton, ON


When: September and October, Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.


Chudleigh’s farm offers many varieties of apples for you to pick, including McIntosh, Honeycrisp, and Silken. They also host summer music nights, with concerts happening until the end of September.


Nature’s Bounty


651 Scugog Line 2, Port Perry, ON


When: September and October, Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Take a break from city life and explore Nature’s Bounty. You can pick your own apples, peppers, and pumpkins here and wander through a sunflower field. You can also book your own gourmet picnic, which includes a blanket; a bottle of cider, lemonade, or sparkling water; and a selection of food.


Archibald’s orchard and estate winery


6275 Liberty St N, Bowmanville, ON


When: September and October, Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


With almost 10,000 trees in their orchard, Archibald’s certainly has a large variety of apples to choose from! They also offer complimentary wine and cider tasting.

Quebec:


La Magie De La Pomme


925 Fresnière, St-Eustache, QC


When: September and October, Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Situated on a farm run by the same family for over two centuries, La Magie De La Pomme offers not only apple picking but also activities and fun for the whole family. If you’re looking for an entertaining family activity, then this is the place for you. Make sure to try their donuts!


Verger Labonté


2291, blvd. Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l’île-Perrot, QC


When: End of August to October, Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Verger Labonté is an eco-responsible, organic orchard that aims to deepen the link between humans and nature through an immersive and creative experience. On top of apple and pumpkin picking, you can visit their corn maze, have a bite at their bistro, or book a well-being workshop.


Cidrerie Verger Bilodeau


1868 chemin Royal, Saint-Pierre, QC


When: end of August to mid-October, Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


On top of offering their visitors a delicious harvest of apples, Cidrerie Verger Bilodeau is known for their high-quality ciders. Go with your friends to taste some of their apple- and maple-derived products, or take your kids to their petting zoo.


Cidrerie Milton


5 Rte 137, Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton, QC


When: September 2 to October 9, Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.


One of the more popular locations in Quebec, Cidrerie Milton is best known for their delicious ciders. They offer apple picking on their orchards, tractor rides, a mini farm and games, as well as a bistro. Fun for everyone!


Les vergers du Domaine Lafrance


1473 chemin Principal, Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, QC


When: August to October, Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Domaine Lafrance orchard while you go apple picking, as well as a festive atmosphere of activities, playgrounds and a small farm that is sure to provoke some squeals of joy. You can also stop by the bistro or the winery while you’re there!
 

Saskatchewan:
 

Bouvier’s Berry Basket

When: Monday-Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.


Enjoy a large selection of berries and apples at Bouvier’s Berry Basket. You can also bring your own picnic and enjoy some time in nature celebrating your harvest.

British Columbia:
 

Apple Luscious Organic Orchards


110 Heidi Pl, Salt Spring Island, B.C.


When: September to November, Monday-Sunday
 

Although relatively new, this orchard is on five acres of land and is home to more than 150 varieties of apples. They also offer selections of plums, pears, and cherries—and all of their harvest is organic! keep an eye  out for their apple festival in October.
 

Davison Orchards

Open: August to October, Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.


Davison Orchards not only offers many varieties of apples and other fruits but also a handful of fun activities to choose from as a family. Go on a U-Pick pumpkin tour or enjoy their Tasting Tuesdays.
 

Ravenskill Orchards


1240 Coats Drive, Gabriola, B.C.


When: Thursday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.


With over 1,000 trees across two acres and 25 different apple varieties, visitors are definitely spoiled for choice at Ravenskill Orchards! Make sure to try their signature hard cider during your visit.


Prince Edward Island:
 

Wintermoor Orchard


906 PE-25, York, P.EI.


When: September to early November, Tuesday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


A beautiful and clean location, Wintermoor Orchard encourages visitors to stay for a picnic and enjoy their in-house apple cider.


Nova Scotia:
 

Vista Bella Farm, Orchard, & Apiary


2859 Malagash Rd, Malagash, N.S.


When: August to October, Friday-Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.


The Vista Bella Farm opens its doors to the public for apple picking and also offers a selection of other locally-grown fruits and vegetables. Plus, make a mental note to try out their artisanal ciders.
 

New Brunswick:
 

River View Orchards


251 NB-616, Keswick Ridge, N.B.


When: September and October, Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


The River View Orchards are a great spot to visit a farm, but it’s the bakery that keeps us coming back. Make sure to try out their homemade meals, such as soup, casserole, salad, or dessert. 
 

Verger Belliveau Orchard
 

1209 rue Principale, Memramcook, N.B.
 

When: September and October, Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


The Belliveau Orchard is waiting for you with open arms, whether you want to pick your own apples, have a snack in their orchard cafe, or sample some of their cider or wine.
