These Are The 4 Dirtiest Items In Your Kitchen

There are some things we use all the time that we just forget to clean.

The kitchen is a breeding ground for bacteria. From raw meat to old garbage, there's always something laying around that could cause illness or infection.

When was the last time you washed your hand towels or wiped down the inside of your compost bin?

These are the 4 dirtiest items in your kitchen

Sponges

Sponges never have the time to dry out. They're damp and dirty, and contain food particles that bacteria thrives on. We suggest replacing your sponge every 1-2 weeks.

Get our favourite sponges now.

Cutting Boards

Whether you have ones made of wood or plastic, cutting boards get small grooves in them from constant chopping. These grooves are a hotspot for bacteria, especially after butchering raw meat.

Use white vinegar to disinfect your cutting board. If it has deep grooves, it's time to replace it.

Appliance Handles

Think about how many times you go into the refrigerator or use the microwave in a day—or how many people are touching those surfaces. Wipe them down after every meal.

Dish Towels

Dish towels, like sponges, can stay damp for long periods of time. You're always using them to wipe down surfaces or dry dishes. There's a chance for mold and mildew to grow if they aren't washed in hot water and dried on a regular basis. We suggest a fresh towel every day.
