Popular in traditional Indian medicine (Ayurveda), this herbal beverage helps relax your body and encourages a good nights rest. While there is no exact recipe, Moon Milk typically contains ashwagandha, a root that is part of adaptogenic plants and overflows with benefits. Known for its sleep-inducing properties, ashwagandha is credited with regulating the nervous system. Cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg are also frequently added to the warm milk mixtures. These spices promote digestion, blood circulation, and can lower cortisol.

How to make moon milk
- 1 1/4 cups milk of choice
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ashwagandha powder
- 1/8 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger
- 1 pinch of saffron
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
Directions
1. In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients except the honey and coconut oil.
2. Gently heat the mixture. Just before it simmers, add the coconut oil and mix.
3. Pour the mixture into a cup and let it cool before adding the honey.
4. Sprinkle cocoa, cinnamon, lavender, or another tasty powder on top to finish it off.
