Try the trend: White pants

In the past, white trousers were synonymous with one thing: summer. Throughout the decades they were donned by fashion icons like Coco Chanel, Marilyn Monroe and Jackie O, and accessorized with round sunglasses, woven purses and–naturally–bare feet. For fall 2014, the white out continues. Labels such as Helmut Lang, Gareth Pugh, Barbara Bui and Acne Studios showcased layered ivory looks in creamy palettes on the runway.

Try the trend by taking notes from our model. A striped tee and metallic blazer look polished and chic. As the weather cools, begin layering white-on-white or cream-on-cream pieces: Trousers, sweaters, capes and scarves are great options. If an all-white outfit seems too pristine, add a graphic black-and-white print on top, plus a pair of sleek black stilettos or boyish moto boots.
