With the resurgence of all things ’80s, neon colours have made their way back into fashion’s favour. Donning a fluorescent hue can be daunting for the colour averse, but it’s manageable in small hits; think earrings, bags, hats and shoes—though not all at once. Feeling confident? Use neon as an underpinning, as we did with this dress, then layer with black, grey and oxblood in structured shapes for a cool yet sophisticated look.
The short answer is yes, slightly—but who cares? A horizontal-striped shirt
is timeless. For clothes to be flattering, you need to take into account much more than the pattern on the material; consider the cut of the garment and the shape of the individual, too. If you love stripes but are wary of horizontals, choose a vertical version; when worn
in bright colours, these stripes have a beach-chair vibe—fitting for summer.
Yes! Hoops are a classic style that every woman—regardless of age—should own, but to pick the most flattering, consider your face shape. If you have a long or oval face, go for a larger round style; you can also choose embellished hoops. If you have a round face, an elongated hoop or
a drop style is best.

There are few greater sartorial power moves than wearing a winter-white ensemble—and it’s easier to achieve than you may think. The key is to create clear separation between each piece. Don’t stick to the same shade of white; include cream, eggshell and ivory for dimension. Then, have some fun with texture; the overall effect should be soft, luxe and airy. If you’re still struggling to pull it all together, a simple way to add separation is with an open-front sleeveless waistcoat. Wear with cream trousers and a white button-down shirt or satin slipdress.
Asymmetrical styles are the curveball of necklines. Don’t overshadow the outfit by wearing your hair down; instead, try a soft, playful bun for a casual-meets-posh look. Want to increase the glam factor? Add a sparkling hair band or a glittering comb.
Fashion note: If you’re putting a bit of bling in your hair, skip bold baubles on your ears and neck.
