DENIM ON DENIM
Just like an oversize blazer or a biker jacket, wearing tone-on-tone denim has earned its right to be considered a modern classic. Try mixing up the washes, with lighter denim on top and darker on the bottom. (Deeper tones can offer a slimming effect.) Feeling risky? Try donning denim in similar shades for maximum impact.

Current jean-skirt styles have fresh updates with polished touches and an array of silhouettes. For a modern throwback to the ’70s, try one with a buttoned front. Shorter hemlines juxtaposed with oversize sweaters or a jacket make for an instant cool-girl outfit.

DENIM OVERALLS
We admit that when overalls became trendy (again) a few years ago, we were hesitant, but we’re well versed in the playful style now. The freshest way to wear them is also the simplest: with a striped top. Keep the look effortless with a pair of sneakers or dress it up with a block-heeled bootie or sandal.
