VIDEO: How to get glowing, highlighted skin
We teamed up with Brittany Gray of Fancy Face and Stila Cosmetics to create a glowing complexion. Depending on how sheer you apply, you can go for a subtle approach to glowy skin—or full-on bright like a diamond.
2018 is the year of the highlight. Adding a bit of shine to your beauty routine is the perfect way to add some pizzazz. Plus, highlighter really gives the appearance (and sometimes illusion) of healthy skin. And who doesn't want that?
How to get glowing, highlighted skin
STEP 1: After your base is applied (foundation and concealer), apply your blush. For an extra dewy look, Gray recommends using a cream blush, applied with a beauty blender sponge.
STEP 2: Next, use a powder to control shine in the not-so-flattering places. Focus on areas such as the t-zone.
STEP 3: Using a bronzer, dust in the areas the sun would naturally hit your face: top of the forehead, cheekbones, chin and jawline.
STEP 4: It's highlighter time! For the most glowy results, stick with a cream formula. Apply at the top of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and on the cupid’s bow (the double curve of an upper lip).
STEP 5: If you’re looking for shine 2.0 try layering on another highlighter with a slightly different hue. Gray used Stila’s Heaven’s Hue Highlighter in Transcendence ($42). The shade is a pinkish opalescent, perfect for an ethereal glow.
