VIDEO: How to get an easy and natural makeup look in 15 minutes
Makeup artist Liraz Jacoby gave our intern Murissa a simple "no-makeup" look.
We caught up with makeup artist Liraz Jacoby from Makeup By Liraz to learn how to achieve an easy, natural makeup look in less than 15 minutes. She didn't disappoint! A few steps and some choice products complete this look is a flash—it's our top new everyday beauty look when we're short of time or energy but still need to look polished.
How to get a natural, "no-makeup" look in 15 minutes or less
STEP 1: With this look, there aren’t very many products used, but you do want to prep your skin so that it looks its best throughout the day. Start with a primer to mattify skin and act as a barrier between the makeup and the skin. Jacoby recommends a using a primer like the Stila One-Step Correct, ($47, sephora.com.) that can prime as well as colour-correct in a single step.
STEP 2: Fill and define your brows using an eyebrow pencil or an eyeliner brush with brow powder. Try to mimic the hair using short and light strokes, only filling in the spaces and defining your brow line. The goal is to have natural-looking but groomed brows. If your eyebrow hairs are a little more unruly, Jacoby suggests using clear mascara to brush through brows and set them in place.
STEP 3: Using a damp beauty blender, apply a liquid foundation all over your face and set with a loose powder, paying special attention to the areas that you know are prone to shine throughout the day, typically the center of your face.
STEP 4: Apply bronzer to the apples of your cheeks, and then a highlighter lightly sweeping down from the temples. If you prefer blush to bronzer, try to find a dual palette where you can mix the colours for a more natural glow. You can also sweet this shade across your eyelids with a light hand, if you like having some colour on your eyes.
STEP 5: Finally, finish off the look with a couple coats of mascara and a swipe of lip gloss.
