Canadian beauty retailer Trade Secrets will help you donate your gently used hair appliances to local women’s charities and shelters.

Beauty moves fast and it seems that we’re always looking for the next best product or innovation. But while it’s exciting to learn about bright, shiny new products, it often means that many decent products and appliances get tossed ahead of their best-before date.

Which is why donating new or gently used products and appliances is always at the top of our list when we clean out our beauty stash. Canadian retailer Trade Secrets wants to make that process a little bit easier for all of us. Until September 23, 2016, you can bring your hair appliances (curling irons, blow dryers and flat irons) to any Trade Secret location and they will donate the products to women’s charities and shelters in Canada. The initiative is called the Trade Secrets “Give & Take” program and this year is its 10 year anniversary.

“We want to educate our customers and staff about the importance of paying it forward. Even the smallest of acts, such as donating a hair appliance, can give women the tools they may need to feel confident both inside and out,” said the brand in a press release.

For a little added incentive (and to thank you for your generous donation), Trade Secrets is offering 50% off select hot tool purchases from brands like BaBylissPRO, Hot Tools and GS Professional.
