Our favourite celebrity beauty looks from the 2017 Met Gala event, which took place on May 1, 2017.
The 2017 Met Gala was nothing short of fabulous. This year’s avant-garde theme, "Art of the In-Between," celebrated Comme Des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo. Celebrities outdid themselves on the red carpet. From classic red lips (Rose Byrne) and stunning up-dos (Priyanka Chopra) to the more dramatic, head-turning hair and make up (Zendaya), we recount some of our favourite beauty looks from the first Monday in May's Met Gala.

Brie Larson shone bright in her embellished gown by Chanel. Her beauty look was risky but it definitely paid off. Gold shimmer flakes were added into her hair and the corners of her eye makeup to complete the gilded look. NARS Director and makeup artist, Rachel Goodwin, was inspired by “the unconventional and playful Japanese fashion Comme de Garçon is known for creating.” To achieve this look Goodwin used the Koala Eyeliner Stylo and Iskandar Eye paint in the gold, grey, and silver shades.

Bünchen simply glowed with her peachy cheeks and rose lips. Inspired by her sparkling silver dress, makeup artist Hung Vanngo kept her makeup “a little more classic and sophisticated.” Using the Marc Jacobs beauty line, Vanngo added colour to the face by using a combination of blush and bronzer. To achieve that smoky cat-eye look, he carefully drew the cat-eye shape past the corner of the eye and slightly smudged it close to the lashes.
Rose Byrne

All eyes were on Byrne when she arrived at the Met gala. Between her red Ralph Lauren gown and gravity-defying curls, we can’t decide what we love more. Byrne pumped up the volume and added a deep side part in her most daring hairstyle yet. The classic red lip matched her dress and completed her red carpet ready look. Lady in red indeed.

Coppola’s gold dress by Marc Jacobs is only one reason we love her red carpet ensemble. Her soft, shoulder-length waves and effortless makeup by Kate Mellinger complete her “modern glam” look. Mellinger used Marc Jacobs Brow Wow Defining Llongwear Eyebrow Pencil to complete those bold and beautiful brows.

The rapper and singer rocked the red carpet with her custom H&M dress. The sheer tulle organza gown trailed behind her with beautiful black vinyl roses along the hem and beneath the train. But it is the off-the-shoulder kimono top that is reminiscent of Rei Kawakubo. As always, Minaj kept her long tresses straight and sleek. To complement the Swarovski crystals featured along the front of her dress, Minaj went for a subtle sparkling red lip.

The beautiful Covergirl is known for her dramatic hairstyles and edgy style. Her Met Gala look this year was no different as she rocked her natural hair and embraced frizz, and a floral Dolce and Gabbana gown. Covergirl makeup artist Sheika Daley finished the look with a bright red-orange lip using the Melting Pout Gel Liquid Lipstick in Tan-Gel-O.

Graham nails her first-ever Met Gala look with her custom made, Kawakubo-inspired dress by H&M. Her corset dress featured three-dimensional ruffles in varying shades of red silk organza. The curvy model kept her hair and makeup simple with a sleek bun and a classic red lip and we love it.
Priyanka Chopra

Chopra’s beauty look definitely caught our eye with her bold brows and metallic eye shadow. The Quantico star complemented her glowy skin with a neutral brown lip colour and an effortless updo. Celebrity stylist, Bok-Hee, let the hair air dry to achieve a natural texture, and then gathered her hair into a tight ponytail and twisted it into a knot. Complete the look with Pantene Pro-V Style Series Air Spray.
