Andrea Karr: How do you define good hair?
Frédéric Fekkai: Good hair is healthy hair with great texture. It is important to have a hairstyle that fits the bone structure and your silhouette, and feels bouncy, feels shiny, feels movement.
AK: How does one find a great hairstylist?
FK: It's all about meeting with a stylist and having a consultation, making sure you feel good about him or her styling the hair. It's beyond the hair. It's someone that understands your personality, your lifestyle, your fashion.
AK: Do you think women of a certain age shouldn't have long hair?
FK: I don't believe in those rules. Especially today, women are getting younger as they get older.
AK: What advice do you give your team when working on red-carpet events?

FK: Be prepared and have everything in your toolbox, from wigs to extensions to hair accessories. Always, always have meetings prior to the day to make sure you're aware of the makeup, aware of the dress, aware of the styling in general.
