Toronto Fashion Week: Joe Fresh Style S/S 11
It’s no mystery, Joe Fresh can do no wrong in our books. We love this wallet friendly Canadian mass-market brand. From their fuchsia matte lipstick (Katherine’s favorite) to their sleek leather oxfords. Karen likes them so much she owns two pairs. On the heels of the announcement that Joe Fresh would be redesigning the Scouts Canada uniforms, the show opened with stylish scout staples. The military-esque outfits borrowed some not so orthodox materials… like these muted sequined shorts. I adore them!
Usually Joe Mimran gets a supermodel to open the show. In the past we saw Coco Rocha, Irina Lazareanu and Crystal Renn just to name a few. This season there was no big names that we’ve come to expect. However three notable models walked in the show, Tiiu Kuik, Alex Loomans and Arlenis Sosa.
The predominate colour pallet consisted of olive green, white, navy and brown with bright spots of highlighter hues (pink, yellow and orange). The over all vibe was preppy (which is what Joe does best) meets structured military. The collection featured light airy fabrics, with the exception of the sequins, those suckers don’t breath. This is coming from a sparkle expert, they wear like a walking sauna. But I digress… Lots of crisp whites, styled with knee high socks and sandals. They even did the perfect knock off of the Prada kitten heel from last season, down to the petite patent bow.

The skin was youthful and glowy and lips had a clear coating of balm. The simplicity of the makeup was a canvas to let the lashes have the spot light. But I'm not talking about long well defined lashes, I'm talking about chubby clumped up ones. Want to know more about this makeup? Beauty expert and journalist Janine Falcon gives you the step by step on how to get the look.
