Every time my nose catches a hint of Nivea Creme it transports me back to childhood. I’m six years old standing in front of my Babcia’s (Polish for Grandma) bathroom countertop. The chipped and slightly yellowed surface was a shrine to her beauty products. Her most beloved? That little blue tin incasing the rich optic white cream, it was the star in her skincare ritual. Next to treating my eczema with prescription ointments, it was my first real skincare experience. To this day the Nive Creme scent makes me feel nostalgic, reminding me of the simple beautiful moments I shared with my babcia. And makes me miss her.
