DISCLAIMER: Mascara is a lot like fragrance; the process of finding your perfect mascara match takes time. What may work wonders for you won't be so successful on your friend’s fringe. That's why I rarely review mascara, so please keep that in mind when reading my pleasing experience with M.A.C Cosmetics False Lash Mascara, $25.

This mascara has been one of M.A.C Cosmetics iconic offerings for some time now, but it's just been updated with four new eye colour-enhancing shades. Plum Reserve, Counterfeit Brown, Artificial Aubergin and Blue Charge—that's the one I'm currently crushing on. The formula is rich and creamy and after 12 hours of wear it showed no signs of flakes. It simultaneously thickened my lashes and left behind a beautiful cobalt tint, a refreshing and flattering change from basic black. The hue really amplified my eye colour and gave them the appearance of a deep opulent blue. I've tested about 30 different coloured mascaras and this one ranks as the best yet.
