Truth be told, there's no one-product-fits-all when it comes to fighting humidity-ravaged hair. Sorry, but it's true. Just like one-size-fits-all clothing and one-shade-fits-all BB creams—if it seems to good to be true it probably is. It makes sense, people come in all different sizes, skin tones and hair types—so it often takes a little bit of work on our end to find out what fits. As for frizz taming products, I found my golden ticket to sleek hair this summer:
Live Clean Exotic Silk Keratin Oil Treatment.
Now I'm not saying it's a cure for all hair types but it was for mine, so here's a bit of background on my hair. It's possible that my linage intersects with
Cousin Itt because I have a ton of hair, and it's cray cray thick with a natural wave. Back in February I took my golden blonde tone to an arresting—and borderline albino—
white blonde. Translation: I damaged the crap out of it. Which makes it more prone to
frizz, especially on hot humid days. For those of you not familiar with
Live Clean it’s a Canadian beauty brand that uses eco-friendly practices and ingredients. One of their newest launches is the Keratin Oil Treatment; it's beneficial for almost all hair types, unless you have baby fine hair. It's particularly effective on dry and damaged hair, harnessing a blend of phyto-keratin, buriti oil, macadamia nut oil and wild flower honey. Frizz starts brewing when dry, porous hair sucks up moisture in the air, causing the shaft to swell. This intense leave-in treatment (apply on damp hair) coats the hair shaft, making it harder for moisture to sink in. It also nourishes the hair by penetrating the shaft with the same special blend.
