It's not easy being green. And it's certainly not always easy to go green when it comes to skincare products. Everyone wants their creams and lotions to do it all but have only
natural ingredients while they're at it.
Here's a few of our eco-friendly faves:
Green Beaver
I've met Karen Clark and Alain Ménard, the founders of this
Canadian brand and let me assure you, they are passionate about eco-friendly products. This line does it all – the brand has
gluten-free, eco-friendly and organic (EcoCert) certified products for all of your needs be it shampoo and conditioner, or organic sunscreen. If you've got skin sensitivities, a gluten allergy or a baby to bathe, I highly recommend this line.
Attitude
This brand is my go-to for new
moms. The products are free of ingredients of concern according to EWG and their EWG VERIFIED™ program. Plus, they're vegan, come in recyclable packaging and the ingredients are biodegradable.
Kiehl's
Kiehl’s is creating more responsible formulas with renewable ingredients and sustainable packaging, while improving the materials we use in our stores. Plus, 98% of their formulas are made with at least 3 renewable ingredients – which means they can be replenished or regrown.
Kiss My Face
This pure olive oil bar soap is how the whole line called Kiss My Face came about. The founders, Canadian Bob MacLeod and Steve Byckiewicz were selling this soap out of their car because they really believed in natural products. What began with a simple bar of soap developed into multiple lineups of products including oral care, hair care and a kids line. Created without animal ingredients and free of parabens, pthalates, SLS, gluten and artificial fragrances, there's something from the brand for every type of green consumer.
Derma E
If you're looking for anti-aging, exfoliating and anti-acne treatments made with antioxidants and botanicals, look no further than
Derma E. These vegan products are free of mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, artificial colors and are manufactured with wind energy to boot.
