Your chief memory of Jon Montgomery from the Vancouver Olympics might be him guzzling from a pitcher of beer post-win, but this athlete is much more than a rowdy reveller.

Thus far, Jon has eight World Cup medals and five Canadian National titles in addition to his Vancouver gold. Not to mention that he has been crossing the country as host of The Amazing Race Canada and is a feature
athlete of the P&G "Thank You Mom" campaign, which supports moms and families
of Olympians.

Jon got his first glimpse of skeleton racing while living in Calgary in 2002, and he knew right away that he had to try it. "Crossing the finish line for the first time, I couldn't have been happier," he says. "I'm mindful of the fact that I'm lucky to be doing what I'm doing, that I've earned the opportunity to do something virtually nobody gets to do. To represent your country on the world stage, to get paid to play—that's ridiculous," he says.

His philosophy about sport is: "Have some fun and get ‘er done." That's  exactly what he hopes to do in Sochi.
