The number of times we actually fall in love may surprise you!
Love - the real thing - comes to us "when we’re not looking for it". This phrase that we hear so often, oft-repeated like a broken record, is nonetheless true.
According to Kate Ross, an expert in human relations, however, we may only fall in love three times in a lifetime... quite interesting!

Only three times for true love! However, this figure doesn't take into account all the love stories and encounters that mark a person's journey. According to a survey of 3,000 British men and women carried out by the Vashi diamond company, a person is likely to be in a relationship around five times in his or her life.
DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN TYPES OF LOVE

These statistics may seem disproportionately low, so let's define the different types of love to better understand the origin of these results!
1. IDEALISTIC LOVE
This type of love refers to the very first love, whether experienced in adolescence or later in life. It's defined as idealistic, since it tends to be experienced with a pretty pair of rose-colored glasses on the eyes. The actions and gestures of the coveted person are admired, and we're easily charmed by the idea of shared happiness forever.
2. DESTRUCTIVE LOVE
This love, experienced out of necessity, often fills a void or helps us to move on. Sometimes unhealthy and toxic, a destructive relationship can nevertheless awaken our awareness of our needs and desires, and of what kind of love story we truly want to live.
3. LOVE THAT LASTS
Here we're talking about the true love that comes to us unexpectedly. In the most beautiful and healthy of ways, this love turns our hearts and our daily lives upside down, and makes us grow and evolve.
