I like to give my mom something luxe I know she'll love but wouldn't splurge on for herself. La Mer's The Brilliance Brightening Mask is a powerful treatment that soothes, evens and brightens skin — results she'd normally have to get a facial to achieve. —Renée Reardin, senior digital editor
La Mer The Brilliance Brightening Mask, $315, sephora.com.
I'm thinking of getting my mom a new decorative vase (filled with fresh flowers) to add to her collection of vessels. Something neutral but stylish – like one of these pale pink faceted vases from West Elm. —Morgan Lindsay, design editor
Faceted Porcelain Vases, $15-$34, westelm.com.
The spring/summer 2018 runway shows are proof that pearls are cool again. I like them best when they're not perfect and in their natural state, it helps them shed their preppy image, instead giving them some edge. This Mother's Day I'm buying local, from Sarah Blazer a Toronto based jewellery design, Daily Pearls. These fresh water grey-white baroque pearls are supported with hammered gold-filled components. —Julia McEwen, fashion and beauty director
12mm Gold Drops, $85, etsy.ca/DailyPearls.
My mom is always running late, and I'm obsessively punctual so this beautiful rose gold watch from Michael Kors is basically a gift to both of us. —JM
Michael Kors rose gold-toned and embossed leather watch, $295, michaelkors.ca.
My mom is renovating the house, so I want to give her something that isn't exactly décor but will add a fresh touch to her home. These adorable pink terracotta pots are perfect for her new collection of houseplants. —Mary Delong, digital intern
Ridged Terracotta Pot, $12-$34, anthropologie.com.
Do you have a fancy mom? You know, one that likes the finer things in life? Or maybe she's just the type of woman who already has everything? Both scenarios sum up my step mom. If you're looking for a winner she'll be thrilled with either a Jo Malone candle or diffuser. I'll be picking up the Lime Basil & Mandarin for my step mom this year. —JM
Lime Basil & Mandarin Scent Surround™ Diffuser, $100, jomalone.ca.
If your mom is all about shoes, she'll feel incredibly spoiled if you splurge on a beautiful pair from Pretty Ballerinas. We're crushing on these embroidered flower mules. —JM
Ella leather mules, $293, prettyballerinas.ca.
For Mother's Day, I always try to pull together an experience for my Mom instead of just getting her a gift—even better if we can spend the time together. In the past this has meant brunches, pedicure appointments and surf-and-turf home-cooked meals—her favourite. This year, it's time for a little R&R for Mom. In Toronto, the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie is the place to go for Mother's day gifting. The spa is offering a bunch of great Mother's Day packages to truly indulge Mom, but I'll be sticking to one of the space's classic treatments—the Caudalie Grand Facial. It's the perfect customized facial that is a full hour of relaxation and a radiant complexion to boot. Luckily, even if you aren't in Toronto, a quick search of spas in your town will probably yield some great gifting options. If you're in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver, we have a few options that can get you started. —Alexandra Donaldson, fashion and beauty editor
Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudale Grand Facial, $170, mirajcaudaliespa.com.
When it comes to gifts for mom, the best kinds are sentimental items, especially jewellery, something that represents a message or memento. Try something from NYC jewellery brand Atelier Paulin, each piece is created using a disappearing ancestral technique: the art of hand shaping a precious metal wire into beautiful creations. I'm especially fond of this bracelet that says mom in French, perfect for new mothers. —JM
14 Carats Gold Fill Wire 'Maman' Timeless Words Bracelet, $250, atelierpaulin.com.
My mom does her best to keep her busy house as clean as possible, which is why this Mother's Day, I'd like to help make that task a lot easier with Dyson's Cyclone V10 vacuum. It's the most powerful vacuum Dyson has released to date (so powerful that the company is no longer investing in research in development of upright corded vacuums), and comes with a bin that's up to 40% bigger, so you're able to do more cleaning and less emptying. I know it'll be a huge help to my mom. —Linda Cotrina, web producer
Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute, $799.99, dysoncanada.ca.
A beautiful bracelet is always a good idea for mom, especially this rose gold piece from Canadian jewellery designer, Melaine Auld. —LC
Caspian Bracelet, $125, melanieauld.ca.
My mom loves cats just as much as I do, and this handmade traveler's pouch from Canadian maker Jenna Rose is on my list this Mother's Day. I might just treat myself to one, too! —LC
Black Cats Traveler Pouch, $35, etsy.ca/jennarosehandmade.
It's almost patio season, and you know what that means. Barbecuing is always a delicious but messy business. This apron and mitt set is machine-washable and comes in a bright red to keep things stylish for mom.
Canadian Living 2-Piece Apron and Mitt Set, $39.99, bedbathandbeyond.ca.
With the warmer weather approaching, mom deserves a great pair of sandals to stroll around in. These stylish sandals from Malvados are perfect for the season and are 100% vegan. —LC
Malvados Icon Taylor Sandals, $45, malvados.ca.
My mom has travelled to Africa quite a bit and even lived there for a short period. I know she's seen the needs of the third world firsthand and has done what little she could to help. I'm sure she'll love this unique utensil set from Me to We. It's beautiful and it will help make a difference in someone's life. —Mary Levitski, features editor
