Want to celebrate Canada 150? Find a movie near you!
In honour of Canada 150, the Minister of Canadian Heritage has launched Movie Nights Across Canada. Think of it as a year-long movie marathon!
Movie Nights Across Canada is a cross-country tour to celebrate Canadian talent in the movie industry, old and new. Every part of the Canadian industry is celebrated, from the stars in front of the camera to the behind-the-scenes players who help make the magic.
The tour started its trek across Canada on November 1, 2016 in Ottawa and has since traveled to Toronto, but it's not even close to done, so no worries if you haven’t made it out yet, because this is a year-long tour that starts up again in April, making an appearance in six more Canadian cities!
At each event, they will be showing premiere screenings of local feature films and shining a well-deserved spotlight on the film, television and digital artists who make it all possible.
The next film to be screened during this event is the romantic drama Lovesick. The movie was filmed entirely in Winnipeg, so it’s appropriate that it’s being shown there for National Canadian Film Day (April 6). Keep an eye out, as the rest of the movies are still yet to be announced.
First time hearing about this, or been meaning to check it out? Here’s when and where you can find the remaining events:
