Tuesday Travel Limerick: Kent, England
Great Britain: Money well-spent! Okay, I'm officially outing myself: I'm a closet limerick-writer. Can't get enough of them. Here's the first in my Tuesday travel limerick series.
To London on holiday I went In three days my money was spent "You should have been wiser," Barked my financial adviser "Next time spend a few days in Kent"London is amazing. It ranks among my favourite cities in the world. The history, the culture, the pubs, the battlefields (talking, of course, about the tabloid press!), West End theatre, even the Royals. But it can get a bit pricey. So if you've got a week or ten days in England, by all means you must spend time in London. But I suggest you then head out to one of the counties such as Kent. Your travel dollars could go a little further – and you'll still have your pick of postcard moments, be it visiting Canterbury Cathedral or the White Cliffs of Dover and you'll discover a range of accommodations at all price points. There are the iconic White Cliffs of Dover... And incredible sites such as Leeds Castle... In fact, here's a list of great tourist discounts for visitors to Kent. Have you visited the English countryside? What would you suggest for a first-timer to Britain?
