The evolution of online dating -- an infographic
Every so often I stumble across a gem on the Internet and I can't help but share it. Last night, while trolling the
Twitterverse, I found myself drawn to a hashtag that seemed to be getting a lot of attention:
#OnlineDating. Scrolling through the plethora of sage advice for (and from) online daters and ads for dating websites, I discovered
The Good Men Project -- a website/community where the creators have opened a discussion centered around modern manhood and the question,
“What does it mean to be a good man?” While that question itself is fascinating to me (and may, perhaps, be the title of my next post), what I found more interesting was an infographic posted on the site about the
history/evolution of online dating. Did you know we can date 'electromance' all the way back to 1965? Or that online dating is the third most popular meeting spot for newlyweds? The infographic, based out of the U.S., also highlights the many downsides to online dating, such as identity fraud and adult bullying. You can see more details in the infographic pictured below.
Have you tried online dating? If so, how was your experience? [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="414"]
