[/caption] Did any of you catch the Golden Globes last night? I really only saw the beginning before bedtime duties called, but it was all I needed for a boost in spirit and energy. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler did their opening segment as hosts of this year's event, and unsurprisingly, they were hilarious. It was so nice to see a female duo host the show for a change; it is 2013, right? And it was even better to see them so well-received. Last night's show was apparently the best in ratings since 2007. Then I read this piece in
Babble.com today about what great moms they are. Well, consider me a fan for life. Seems the Globes was a great night for the ladies--celebrating both veterans like Jodie Foster and newbies like Lena Dunham. New moms Adele and Claire Danes also won accolades, but the focus seemed to be more about their
post-baby bodies. I mean, I know the awards shows are very much about assessing who wore what, and who looked great and who didn't, but the emphasis on how perfect these women's post-baby bodies are, is beyond unrealistic. And frankly, really annoying. That aside, it seemed like folks were genuinely having a good time at the Globes, and it's nice to see recognition go to some unknowns rather than the same group every year. Did you have any favourite moments? Scratch-your-head moments? Mine was when I saw Mel Gibson in attendance. Still in awe about that.
