One autumn afternoon in Central Park
A couple of weeks ago, I was given the unexpected gift of spending an autumn afternoon in New York's Central Park. To backtrack a bit, I had planned to
vacation in Manhattan during October, with the intention of seeing the leaves change in what I'd imagined to be one of the prettiest parks in North America. And while it did turn out to be everything I'd expected in terms of scenery and ambiance, Mother Nature had other plans. During my visit to the park in October, I was greeted by warm weather, green leaves and a day so bright, I rowed across one of the many lakes in the park with my sunglasses on. I thought it was supposed to be autumn! Luckily, a few weeks back, I was invited to Manhattan once again, but only for a day, on a press trip. And even more lucky, the location was right next to the park. With the press visit over by noon, I had a couple of hours to kill before catching my
flight back to Toronto. I jumped at the opportunity to walk around the now familiar trails, knowing just where to look for picturesque scenes. Here are some of the photos I took during my quick afternoon in Central Park.
Honestly, the photos don't do the real scene any justice. Central Park is romance and magic. No wonder so many romantic movies are set here. Yes, this relationships editor is revealing her lovey-dovey heart. This last photo is my favourite. Just look at all the colours!
Looks like something out of a fairytale, doesn't it?
What are some of your favourite parks to visit?
