Canadian cities among the most livable in the world

The Economist has released its annual Top 10 list of the world’s most livable cities and three Canadian locales made the cut: Vancouver came in third, Toronto fourth and Calgary tied for fifth with Adelaide, Australia. What makes these Canadian capitals so great? The Economist assessed 140 cities based on 30 criteria in five key categories: stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure. (Obviously, housing prices didn’t factor into that equation.) In fact, Canada fared so well, we were second in the world only to Australia in terms of how many entries made the Top 10. (Australia earned a total of four nods.) Read on for the entire list. 1. Melbourne, Australia 2. Vienna, Austria 3. Vancouver, Canada 4. Toronto, Canada 5. Calgary, Canada 6. Adelaide, Australia 7.
