Life sure can be tough sometimes. New dad Nathen Steffel watched his newborn daughter, Sophia, suffer from the moment she was born.  The beautiful little girl passed away at the tender age of 6 weeks from complications involving pressure on her abdomen due to hepatic hemangioma, the most common benign tumour to affect the liver. She never left the hospital. She lived her whole life hooked up to numerous tubes. The grieving dad posted a photo of his daughter on  reddit shortly after her death with a simple request  "My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital. Since she was in the hospital her whole life we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?" Here is the photo that Nathen Steffel submitted to Reddit. Within 2 days, the post received nearly 2500 comments and hundreds of photoshopped images of Sophia with the tubes removed. Nathen was overwhelmed by the support he received from total strangers. Heartwarming comments like... "I couldn't sleep without at least trying," "I cannot hold back the amount of emotions that run through me when I see this photograph." "She is a beautiful girl. A picture can't capture it all, but it's a darn good start." "I'm sorry or your loss, brother. She's beautiful. Stay strong." Although Nathen says that " he will always cherish her real photos because that's how she was."  he left a heartfelt response on the reddit site  "This is really amazing. Everyone you have made my day. All I wanted was a nice picture. What I received was a lot of love and support from a bunch of strangers. A long with a lot of photos, drawing and paintings. Thanks everyone." I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of pain a parent suffers at the loss of their child. Receiving this kind of support from total strangers can only put a little bit of love into a painfully broken heart. RIP beautiful Sophia.
