Frosty factoids: The actual construction of Hotel de Glace begins in early December. It takes an enthusiastic team of 50 sculptors and other experts about six weeks, working day and night, to build, sculpt, refine and complete this one-of-a-kind dream experience for visitors. The team 'creates' night tables, chairs, ornate bars, beds and other accessories out of ice and specially-created snow that's made on site with snow blowers once the temperature drops to minus 5 Celsius. Frosty factoid: More than 1,000,000 visitors from around the world have toured the Hôtel de Glace since it opened in 2001. Of those, 35,000 people have chosen to spend the night in the Ice Hotel.
