You can now buy a really good cuddle--for just $35

2118863049_a6a780c309_o Sometimes you just need a really good cuddle. The kind of cuddle where you're perfectly nuzzled into the other person's shoulder. And they rub your back in soothing circles. Then you let out a good cry. Usually I go to my mom for this kind of comfort, but apparently I can now buy a quality snuggle. Cuddlery is a Canadian service that offers cuddles to customers in need. The cozy company started in Vancouver but is expanding to Toronto and Edmonton. Starting at $35, you can cuddle for 30 minutes with a professional cuddler. But services can cost up to $260 if you want to cuddle for two hours or add extras like a light massage or skin-to-skin contact where you and the professional cuddler wear light clothing. Who knew a good cuddle was worth so much? But just to be clear this kind of cuddling is not like spooning, there's nothing sexual about it! It's about human connection. Personally, I find it hard to cuddle with a stranger. I need to be comfortable with you in order to relax. Don't you? Otherwise I sit there wondering if they're judging me. Am I getting snot all over their shirt? Do they think I'm pathetic for crying over something so silly. But the professional cuddlers apparently don't judge you. Though you do have to pay extra for a tear-filled cuddle. If you're in "crisis" there is a minimum $15 fee for the cuddler to support you as you cry. Seems a bit harsh to charge someone in their moment of need, but I guess if you really need a cuddle. Now what does it take to become a cuddler? I would think most of us think we're good cuddlers, but Cuddlery says less than 10 percent of applicants are actually good at giving snuggles! Reading through the biographies of the professional cuddlers reveals that you need a "gentle touch" and a sympathetic ear to be good at giving loving hugs. So it's not just about touch, but about being a good listener. Now do you have someone in your life who's awful at cuddling? You can sign them up for a cuddling lesson. No really, Cuddlery offers cuddling classes! Though it's a tad pricey, ranging from $69 to $349! Apparently you can put a price on a really nice snuggle. Would you pay for a cuddle?
