A photo worth stealing!
Snapshot: Totem pole, Legislative Building, Victoria, B.C. I didn't actually steal this photo, but I definitely begged to borrow it and publish it on our web site. Wouldn't you? It's a winter's morning, minus 15. I'm trudging through the snow to hop the subway to go to work. I sit in front of my computer, warming my toes, checking email, and then a quick (very quick mind you because I'm at work, right?) detour to Facebook. My pal Mika Ryan, who works for
Tourism British Columbia, happened to be visiting Victoria and stumbled onto this image on her way to a meeting. Such is the contrast of this big, beautiful country. I'm looking at white snow and glaring ice, while Mika has this stunning image in front of her. Says Mika, "I captured this photo with my iPhone while exploring Victoria's inner harbor. The mild winter day and beautiful light had me imagining how charming my life would be if I only lived here." You're not alone, Mika, you're not alone.
Next up: I plan to pilfer a snapshot from a certain outport in Newfoundland. But, shhh, don't tell anyone...just yet. For more beautiful scenes of the B.C. capital,
download the Tourism Victoria app.
