A castle built for a cat
I'm a firm believer that cats should be treated like the royalty they believe themselves to be. So when I came across the story of Billy Browne and his cat, Rufus, I couldn't help but smile.
Poor little Rufus had been suffering from an ear infection. Billy spent two weeks diligently giving Rufus ear drops to help him feel better, but Rufus found the drops painful and would run away and hide when it came time to receive them.
Billy wanted to make things up to the cat he has credited with helping him overcome his anxiety. "I wanted to do something to show my gratitude for his putting up with my torture," he says in his video. And, well, Rufus loves boxes.
So Billy built the Rufus Tower.

The ultimate feline playpen has been lovingly made of 34 boxes duct taped together, with openings cut out between the boxes so Rufus can explore his fort as he pleases – or find a quiet place to nestle away for a nap.
With an owner who provides generous head massages, tends to his medical needs and builds him a cardboard castle, I sure hope Rufus knows how good he has it!
What do you think of this cat owner's act of affection? Does your pet prefer to play with boxes instead of the toys that come in them?
