7 Recent Movie Releases You Can Stream Right Now
The never-ending cold and dark months between the holidays and spring are the perfect time to catch up on all the movies you've been meaning to watch.
Luckily, a couple of new releases are now available to stream on your favourite platforms.
Here are our favourite picks for your upcoming movie night.
Saltburn (dir. Emerald Fennell, 2023)
With a star-studded cast, Saltburn is a black comedy psychological thriller that follows Oliver, an Oxford student, who becomes fixated with a popular, wealthy student, Felix. Taken with Oliver's humble origins, Felix invites him to spend the summer at his eccentric family's summer estate. Chaos ensues.
Available on Prime Video.
Barbie (dir. Greta Gerwig, 2023)
If you have (somehow) missed out on the first half of 2023's biggest movie phenomenon, Barbenheimer, then rejoice: Barbie is now available to stream. Although it needs no introduction, you can expect a talented ensemble cast, fun musical numbers and kitschy decor. Off to Barbieland!
Available on Amazon Prime, CraveTV, Google Play, Apple TV.
Oppenheimer (dir. Christopher Nolan, 2023)
Christopher Nolan's epic biographical thriller film is the perfect continuation to your Barbenheimer marathon. If you're a history buff, then you know the film follows J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the Manhattan Project, which eventually gave him the reputation of being the "father of the atomic bomb."
Available on Amazon Prime, Google Play, Apple TV, Youtube.
Anatomy of a Fall (dir. Justine Triet, 2023)
Set in the French Alps, this French courtroom drama follows novelist Sandra Voyter as she tries to prove her innocence in her husband's death, in which their blind son is the sole witness. Tense and chilling, it's the perfect movie to watch if you're looking for a slow burn.
Available on Prime Video, Google Play, Apple TV, Youtube.
Past Lives (dir. Celine Song, 2023)
Semi-autographical and inspired by the creator's lived experiences, Past Lives follows the story of two childhood friends and how their friendship evolves over the course of 24 years as they lead two different lives. Get your tissues ready!
Available on Amazon Prime, Google Play, Apple TV, Youtube.
No Hard Feelings (dir. Gene Stupnitsky, 2023)
Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence is back with another comedy. This raunchy film features Lawrence as a woman hired by a wealthy couple to romance their inexperienced son. The movie also stars Matthew Broderick.
