If you’ve seen our May issue, you’ll know why everyone is falling in love with Luisana Lopilato. She’s a gorgeous new mom (with a gorgeous baby) and a down-to-earth personality. Many Canadians were first introduced to her when she wedded crooner Michael Bublé, but there’s so much more to this Argentinian actress, model and singer. Here are five things you didn’t know about Luisana. 1. She rescues dogs. You might have seen pictures of her with an adorable little dog, Simon, but she has room in her heart for all kinds of canines. In fact, she rescues street dogs in Argentina. 2. She learned English on the set of an Argentinian movie. After signing up to do a movie in both Spanish and English, a 12-year-old Luisana admitted she did not in fact speak English. Luckily she had already impressed them with her acting, so an English coach was brought in to help her learn the language for the role. 3. Her brother, Dario, is also an actor. When Luisana starred in an Argentinian remake of Married With Children, her brother worked right alongside her as a fellow cast member. 4. Michael proposed to her in front of her family, in Spanish. In fact, Luisana thought he was kidding (maybe his Spanish wasn’t so great!) until he said it again and she looked around and saw her family members crying. Luisana says family is very important to her, so she the proposal was fitting. 5. You’ll likely see her with another baby bump soon! Michael said in an interview last November that he and Luisana want to have three or four kids, what he jokingly calls “a litter.” We look forward to meeting even more new members of this beautiful family!
