Gwyneth Paltrow just keeps digging herself into a deeper hole. First, she "consciously uncoupled" from husband Chris Martin, which caused people to label her as pretentious. I personally didn't think the uncoupling business was that awful. But I am offended by her comment about working moms. "I think it’s different when you have an office job, because it’s routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you’re shooting a movie, they’re like, ‘We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,’ and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set," Gwyneth told E. Oh Gwyneth, you need a serious reality check. So I thought I would list four reasons why being a regular mom with a regular job is harder than being Gwyneth Paltrow. 1. Regular moms have to go back to work The thing with being a movie star, is that you choose to go back to set life and make movies. You don't have to go back to work because you're a millionaire. You are financially set for life. But for regular moms, you often don't have that choice because you can't afford not to work. And even if you don't go back to work, you often have to make financial cutbacks now that you only have one income. Regular moms may have the "luxury" of a 9 to 5 job, but they don't have the "luxury" of not having to worry about money. 2. For regular moms, going organic is a choice, not a lifestyle Gwyneth Paltrow once said she would rather do crack than eat cheese from a can. For her, there is no option but to be completely organic. That's not an option for all families. Organic fruits and vegetables are very expensive and aren't something all families can afford. Obviously, all moms want to do what is best for their kids, but sometimes the money to do so just isn't there. Moreover, making sure all your food is natural and organic by cooking everything from scratch, isn't something all moms have time for. Gwyneth says regular moms can do stuff in the mornings and evenings, but usually that time is spent getting the kids ready for school, grabbing lunches, picking kids up from school and shuttling them to extra-curriculars, etc. Regular moms have a lot to do, their job in no way starts at 9 and ends at 5. 3. Regular moms have to make dinner and clean the house The reason Gwyneth can spend 14 hours on set is because she has a team of people helping her. Chefs, nannies, cleaning ladies and a beauty team. Again, most moms don't have that luxury because they can't afford that. So while moms may have time in the morning and evening to do things, they are doing the things Gwyneth pays a team of people to do. 4. Regular moms have to worry about paying for their kids' education Once again, Gwyneth being a millionaire makes her life infinitely easier than most moms. Gwyneth never has to worry about paying for her kids' tuition. She certainly will never have to get a second job so she can put her kid through medical school or take out a loan so her kids can live in residence. Nope, Gwyneth doesn't have the same worries that regular moms do. Regular moms have to think about these things, they have to budget and save so their kids get the best opportunities. Those are just a few of the reasons why I think being a regular mom is much more difficult than being Gwyneth Paltrow. What other reasons can you come up with?
