3 FREE things to do with the kids this March Break
It's March 6th, the temperature is hovering around -10 degrees right now, it is snowing as I type this and the kids are off school for March Break next week. :( Here in Southern Ontario, we are dealing with the winter that just won't go away. Most of us have had enough of the snow storms, wind chill warnings and extreme weather alerts, but maybe...just maybe...we should embrace it this March Break. After all, it's still cold enough to skate on the pond. Yippee! Here are a few free things I plan on doing with my kids over the March Break. You can too!
Pond Hockey We've never had a pond hockey game in March. Usually, we're down there feeding the ducks during March break, but not this year. We're gathering up a few of the neighbourhood kids, grabbing our hockey sticks and enjoying a game of shinny....in March! If you don't have a pond near you, Tim Horton's Restaurant Owners sponsor
Free March Break Skate. Complimentary skating time at local arenas in participating communities across Canada.
Swimming Tim Horton's also sponsors
Free March Break Swim. Gonna replace the kids snow suits with swim suits and taking them swimming at the local community centre.
The Library My kids have always enjoyed their visits to the library. No where else do their "Can I get this?" requests get more "Yes!" responses than when we're at the library. They even have some programs you can register for like family story time, workshops and puppet shows. Check your local library listing for more information.
