25 Happiest Cities in Canada!

Kingston is the happiest city in Canada, survey says. (Is your city on the list? In the bleak of winter, who wouldn't want to search out the happiest place in Canada? Based on what I learned this week, perhaps you should consider hopping in the car (or onto an airplane or train) and get yourself to Kingston, Ontario,. According to a survey by  Jetpac City Guides, this Eastern Ontario city is the "smiliest" in Canada.   Kingston, Ontario, Happiest city in Canada The survey was based on the number of smiles captured in over 100 million Instagram photos from all across the country. Results were tallied to established a 'smile score' for each city.  Kingston won with 40.2 points, followed by Saskatoon in second place with a score of 36.2.   Happiest Canadian cities, in descending order, according to Jetpac City Guides:
  1. Kingston
  2. Regina
  3. Quebec City
  4. Gatineau
  5. Saskatoon
  6. London
  7. Waterloo-Kitchener
  8. Kelowna
  9. Edmonton
  10. Banff
  11. Hamilton
  12. Surrey
  13. Calgary
  14. Winnipeg
  15. Burlington
  16. Victoria
  17. Halifax
  18. Ottawa
  19. Mont-Tremblant
  20. Niagara Falls
  21. Whistler
  22. Montreal
  23. Toronto
  24. Vancouver
  25. Niagara-on-the-Lake.
I can't say that I'm surprised that Kingston won. I've visited this city in Eastern Ontario a dozen times, and I've always had heaps of fun. My personal bests: Here are 5 things I  love about Kingston, Ontario: 1. Proximity to the outdoors: To spend time in a city of this significance (university town, Armed Forces base, technology and cultural hub) and still only be minutes away from a canoe or kayak or sailboat increases its rankings in my book. 2. Chez Piggy Restaurant:  Don't take my word for it. Check it out yourself. Enough said. 3. Fort Henry has its own goat, named David: When a world-renowned and much-respected historic site makes a special space for a goat, well then, that speaks volumes of the local commitment to history – and sense of humour. 4. Singer-actor-photographer Bryan Adams was born in Kingston. 5. 1,000 Islands at your doorstep: The Thousand Islands is one of the most beautiful areas on water in Canada. See for yourself.
