HOW TO ENTER:
Official nomination information and submission requirements can be found online at www.metoweawards.com beginning January 21, 2008, or in the March and April 2008 issues of Canadian Living magazine, on sale beginning February 5, 2008. To enter, complete the submission requirements online at www.metoweawards.com, or from the March and April issues of Canadian Living and mail to:

Note: mail-in submissions should include the nominee’s signature consenting to the use of their name and biographical information.
Entries are limited to one per nominee for the duration of the contest. Nominations can be entered in only one of the following five categories: 1) Educator; 2) In the Community; 3) Social Action; 4) Youth in Action (12 years and under); and 5) Youth in Action (13 - 17 years). Illegible entries, bulk mailings, or reproductions are ineligible. Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. (ET) on the contest closing date, Friday, April 25, 2008. No purchase necessary.
THE JUDGING:
Three finalists in each of the five categories will be selected from all eligible entries by a judging panel on Friday, May 9, 2008 in Toronto, Ontario. Finalists’ photos and entries will be posted to www.metoweawards.com on Friday May 16, 2008. Visitors to
www.metoweawards.com can vote for one of the three finalists in each of the five categories beginning May 16, 2008 and ending at 11:59 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2008. Votes are limited to one per person per category for the duration of the voting period and must be received by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2008. One winner in each of the five categories will be chosen based on the highest number of votes generated in each category.
The decisions of the judging organization are final with respect to all aspects of the contest. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants and individuals requesting a copy of contest rules. The odds of an entry being selected depend on the number and quality of eligible entries received by the contest closing date. All entries, including photographs, become the property of Transcontinental Media G.P. and none will be returned. Canadian Living (Transcontinental Media G.P.) and third parties may make the information on these entry forms available for promotional purposes unless entrants request otherwise.
PRIZES:
One prize in each of the following five categories will be awarded: 1) Educator; 2) In the Community; 3) Social Action; 4) Youth in Action (12 years and under); and 5) Youth in Action (13 - 17 years). Each prize includes: 1) $5,000 (CAD) donation to registered Canadian charity of winner’s choice; 2) commemorative award; and 3) coverage in an issue of Canadian Living magazine. Approximate value of each prize is $5,000 (CAD). Winners do not receive any cash; donations will be directly distributed to winners’ chosen charities. Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or convertible to cash. Should the winner refuse a prize, Canadian Living (Transcontinental Media G.P.), Contest Sponsors and their respective advertising and promotional agencies are released from any obligation related to the prize. Selected nominees will be notified by phone within one week of Monday, July 1, 2008. Canadian Living (Transcontinental Media G.P.) and Contest Sponsors retain the right in their absolute discretion to make substitutions of equivalent kind or value in the event of the unavailability of any element of the prize for any reason whatsoever.
HOW TO WIN:
Your mailed or online entry must be received by 5:00 p.m. (ET) on the contest closing date, Friday, April 25, 2008. To win, selected entrants must comply with the following conditions: 1) have read and complied with the contest rules; 2) provide a police check, which can be obtained from their local police department; 3) sign a standard declaration and release form confirming compliance with the contest rules, acceptance of their prize as awarded and releasing Canadian Living (Transcontinental Media G.P.), Free The Children, CTV, Contest Sponsors and their respective advertising and
promotional agencies from any damage or loss that may result from entering this contest or accepting and/or utilizing a prize; 4) provide photo identification which confirms that they are the nominee described in the nomination entry; 5) provide proof of legal Canadian residence; and 6) select a registered Canadian charity to which their prize donation will be distributed and provide the selected charity’s registration number. The winner must return the completed forms within two (2) weeks of receipt. If
the completed forms are not returned within the deadline, the winner will be disqualified and the selected entrant with the next highest number of votes in that category will be chosen as the winner . Winners must consent to the use of their photographs, names, places of residence, likeness and voice without compensation, in print, radio, online or televised publicity or promotion relating to the contest.
VOTING
Voting opens May 16, 2008 and closes on June 1, 2008 at 11:59 pm EST. Votes submitted after the official voting period closes will not be counted.
