Part of what I love about a break in routine is the chance to do something a little fancier. Painted cookies have been something I've been wanting to try for quite a while, and they were so easy and fun to do I had to share.     One of our favourite stories to read as a family is The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, especially during the winter, so I took that classic (and its illustrations) as my inspiration. Materials:

• Classic Sugar Cookies,
• Flooded with Royal Icing and left to set overnight (I will admit in my case, a few days)
• Gel food colouring - just black this time
• Wilton or other food-safe paint brushes
