Make a bat costume
What you need:

Size (approximate age in years): Small (3-4) Medium (6-8) Large (10-12)
Black fleece for cape, helmet, and treat bag, 60" (150cm) wide: S=1 3/4 yds. (1.60m); M=2 yds. (1.80m); L=2 1/4 yds. (2.10m)
Yellow fleece for decorations, 60" (150cm) wide: S=1/4 yd. (0.25m); M=1/4 yd. (0.25m); L=1/4 yd. (0.25m)
Other supplies for bat:
• Velcro, 1/2 yd. (0.50m)
• polyester boning or 16-gauge galvanized wire, 1 3/8 yds. (1.30m)
• hot glue gun and glue sticks
• wire cutters (if wire is used)
• needle and thread
CAPE
Handsew pieces of Velcro or snaps for underarm closure. On inside, hotglue polyester boning or wire along shoulders to stiffen. Cover the wire with a strip of fleece for comfort and hotglue in place. Cut stripes and a large moon from yellow fleece, a bat from black fleece, and hotglue to cape as shown.
BALACLAVA HELMET
Stitch or hotglue center front and center back seams. Hotglue two black forehead patches together and add yellow trim on top. Hotglue the patch to helmet front.
TREAT BAG
With right sides together and folded edge at bottom, hotglue side seams. Fold upper edge under and hotglue closed. Fold handles in half lengthwise and hotglue closed. Hotglue handle ends under top edge at front and back. Decorate the bag to match the cape as shown.
