Five for Friday
Hi friends, One of my favourite things about working on the craft blog is that it's a place for me to collect and share the things that inspire me. Here are five things that I'm working on, thinking about, reading and enjoying this week.
A quick knit
I had a look at the weather report for craft camp – brrr! is the word, I think. A pair of wrist warmers now seems essential, so yesterday I downloaded the pattern for
Toasty from
A Friend to Knit With. I'm using a ball of impulse-purchase Ultra Alpaca in blue heather, and hoping to finish them off by the time my plane lands. If I get ultra ambitious, I might whip up a
simple cowl, too.
A wish trip The
Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Fair is this weekend in Kitchener. I've never been, but hear it's amazing – try 70+ vendors, free seminars, and a supervised craft area for kids so that you can shop unimpeded – it's on my list for next year, for sure.
Quick and easy These
DIY Chalkboard Buffet Labels are a cute solution to the "What's that?" problem that sometimes arises on buffet tables, and an excuse to get out the spraypaint. Fun!
Travel knitting
I've been wanting to knit the
3/4 Hap Shawl from
100% rain for a while now, and when I saw these yarns hanging out together in my stash I realized they'd be a perfect fit for this project. I don't know how much time I'll have to knit at camp (based on my experience last year, not much!), but I'm looking forward to casting on.
A cup of coffee and a new magazine The latest issue of
Styled magazine is out. I know what I'll be reading come lunch time! Have a great weekend (and don't forget, there's still time to
enter to win that sewing machine).
