Step 1: Trace ornament shape onto back side of felt and cut two pieces. Set one ornament piece aside.
Step 2: Trace accent shapes onto the back side of felt. Cut one thick and one thin accent strip, and a cap piece.
Step 3: Dab a little glue onto the back of accent stripes and affix to front side of ornament piece. Set aside until dry.
Step 4: Thread embroidery floss onto needle and stitch along the edge of the thick accent stripe, leaving a little gap between each stitch for a handmade look. Repeat for thin piece. Stitch buttons on.
Step 5: Pin reserved ornament piece to the back of the decorated piece. Stitch around the edge, leaving the top open.
Step 6: Cut a 4-inch (10 cm) piece of ribbon. Fold in half and tuck cut ends between the open ends of the ornament. Stitch to secure. Use a little glue to affix cap piece to hide your work and stitch closed.
