DIY advent calendar
A homemade
advent calendar is a gift to treasure forever. Plus, you get to decide what treats go in it—no plastic chocolate coins in our house! Our tradition is to include clues for a tiny scavenger hunt on the 24th for a special pre-Christmas treat.

Here’s what you’ll need:
-Coloured felt fabric
-Elastic ribbon/cord
-Coloured embroidery thread
-Embroidery needle
- Glue
Step 1: Cut felt into a festive shape for the calendar background (a tree, star or snowman works well).
Step 2: Cut 24 pockets, or lengths of elastic ribbon. Arrange onto the background and attach using a simple embroidery stitch.
Step 3: Cut out numbers (1-24) and letters (optional). Glue numbers onto the pockets.
Step 4: Fill with treats and enjoy the festive countdown!
