DIY: A wintry wood-grain vase
With three materials and two easy steps, this nature-inspired DIY vase is all you need to bring the outdoors in…without the brrr factor!
This pretty piece need not stand alone. Apply the treatment to multiple vases of varying sizes to create a lavish "forest" display on your tabletop, windowsill or mantel.
MATERIALS
• Clear glass vase
• White dimensional fabric paint
• White Spray Paint in a chalky finish
Krylon Chalky Finish Paint in Classic White and Scribbles Pop 3D paint in White, michaels.ca. Glass VASE, dollarama.ca.
HOW TO
1. Squeeze the fabric paint onto the vase in an imperfect, organic fashion, mimicking the look of wood grain; let dry. (Tip: If you need some online inspiration for your design, search "wood grain pattern.")
2. Using the spray paint, paint the vase according to the manufacturer’s directions; let dry.
