Special abbreviation
dtr = double treble: [Yoh] 3 times, draw loop through next st, [yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook] 4 times. (Brush up on all the other, standard abbreviations in the pattern at patonsyarns.com/abbreviations)

You need:
• 3 balls of Patons Grace (50 g) pure cotton yarn, Natural
• 4 mm crochet hook OR whichever size you require to obtain the tension given below

Tension:
20 dc and 8 rows = 10 cm (4 ins). Work to exact tension with specified yarn to obtain satisfactory results. TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK TENSION.

Base
Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sl st to first ch to join in ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 15 dc in ring, sl st in top of ch 3. 16 dc in rnd.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in same sp as last sl st, [2 dc in next dc] to end of rnd, sl st in top of ch 3.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, [2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc] to last dc, 2 dc in last dc, sl st in top of ch 3.
