5 last-minute Halloween crafts: costumes, decor and pumpkins, oh my!
I love Halloween, but it always sneaks up on me. I find myself buying candy at the drugstore the morning of, rushing home through insane traffic and scarfing down frozen lasagna just as the first wave of trick-or-treaters starts ringing the doorbell. If you're like me, you may think it's too late to have a crafty, homemade Halloween. But it's not! Here are five things you – and your kids – can make in plenty of time for Wednesday night's scarefest.
5 Last-Minute Halloween Crafts
1. Need a fabulous, low-maintenance costume? Why not transform your child into an old-school
strongman with a bunch of items you likely have around the house? If your little one's not into weight lifting, there are more cute, deliciously simple costumes on the
Homemade Halloween page at
Oh Happy Day.

2. Outfit your trick-or-treater with a
Glow-in-the-Dark Treat Bucket from Linda at
Lark Crafts. It holds a pile of sugary goodness, and you'll be able to track your little one's movements easily in the dark.
3. Everyone needs cool cups for a Halloween party. These
Mini Ghosty Party Cups from
Ardor are so devilishly simple, you'll wonder why you hadn't thought of them sooner. Be sure to check out the adorable
Mini Surprise Ball Pumpkins at this site, too.
4. Light up the night with super-easy
Mummy Luminaries from
Craft Jr. All you need are canning jars, gauze, glue and – everyone's favourite – googly eyes!
5. Tired of those big grinning orange pumpkins? Whip up a flock of
Bat-o'-Lanterns from
Spoonful.
And if that's not enough to keep you entertained in the next few days, we have plenty more Halloween inspiration. Check out
Canadian Living's all-you-can-eat/make/do
Halloween page for more ghoulish good times. Happy Halloween!
