Each year, top designers and brands showcase the best in innovative and inspiring design from around the world at The Interior Design Show in Toronto. We’ve picked our top Canadian designers that you may not have heard of yet, but should.
1. Christopher Solar Design

Christopher Solar offers a select line of handmade limited-production pieces in his Ottawa studio. He selects materials based on durability and enduring appeal.
We love the wood and resin drum table.
2. Lightmaker Studio

Established in 2014, Lightmaker Studio handcrafts complex, sculptural lighting that double as pieces of art. Each light fixture is designed and assembled in their studio located in the Distillery District in Toronto.
We love the mid-century inspired Stella chandelier.
3. Hamilton Holmes

Nicholas Hamilton Holmes crafts small batches of limited-edition furniture. Each piece is numbered and produced by hand in studio.
We love the Danish cord bench.
4. F&Y (barchitechure)

F&Y, a design studio based in Montreal, creates this collection of solid-brass barware called Barchitecture. The pieces are a beautiful combination of function and style. Each piece is hand-polished in their workshop and finished with natural bee wax.
We love this bottle opener and coaster set.

Although Surfaces & Co. sources luxury tiles, rather than makes them, they are a company doing something no other in Canada is in the same way. The combination of materials and designs (which are out of this world) are completely customizable. In-house designers will help make your vision come to life.
