No one does minimalism better than the Swedish. Which is odd, considering the dishes and glassware above are by Denby—a brand that's as British as it gets.
Yet Denby's new Malmo collection of dinnerware bears all the hallmarks of Scandinavian design, from the classic palette of blue and white, to the haute-folk botanical motifs. Throw in a makeshift pale blue linen tablecloth (not ironed, natch!) and a delightfully unfussy floral arrangement and you've got yourself the archetypal northern European table setting.
Another standout in this vignette are the mix-and-match dining chairs. My favourite part of any dining room scheme is seeing how the designer has paired the dining table and chairs, and here, the table is surrounded by two different styles that are absolutely made for one another: blonde-wood Hans Wegner Wishbone Chairs and white Windsor-style chairs. Sheer class!
Malmo would be a fab everyday dinnerware pattern, lending itself to so many mix-and-match combinations. Photography courtesy of Denby.
