Friday design find: Vintage-look etagere
The DIY movement is alive and kicking.
Don't believe me? Check out the current trend for new furniture that's actually made to look like do-it-yourself revamped vintage finds.
Take this gorgeous shelving unit, for instance:
Etagere, $300, HomeSense.
Although it's a brand new piece of furniture, this sexy shelving unit looks like it started life in the Golden Girls' kitchen; probably in a butter-yellow, with a super-glossy, shellacked finish. It's no stretch to imagine that after its '80s vogue, it was donated to Goodwill, and then ended up in the hands of a savvy do-it-yourselfer who recognized the potential in its chic silhouette, and then gave it a few coats of green spraypaint to bring it screaming into the 21st century.
This fab, "faux-refurbished" etagere is part of the spring lineup at HomeSense, hitting stores now!
