Photographic image transfer art, Patrick Lajoie Photography. Photography by Brett Walther.
I had the pleasure of meeting Caledon, Ontario-based photographer Patrick Lajoie at the One of a Kind Show a few weeks back, and was absolutely smitten with his stunning artwork. With a charming vintage vibe, his shots capture the essence of seaside vacations and summer resort-town kitsch. You can almost taste the salty air blowing off of the water, and feel the heat of the scorching sun. He's added depth to these highly-evocative images by transferring the shots onto thin wooden panels, allowing some of the wood's natural grain to penetrate through the picture. It's a unique effect that really adds an aged patina to each piece. Absolutely stunning artwork, and you don't have to wait for the next One of a Kind Show to check out Patrick's work—he's got an Etsy shop as well! Follow me on Twitter!
