7 Ways To Get Rid Of Fruit Flies
Fruit flies are almost inevitable in the summertime, but we've got a few ways to keep them at bay.
No matter how often you clean the kitchen, go through your fruit bowl, or keep the screen door closed, little fruit flies find a way to come in and take over the kitchen.
If you want to get rid of them, try one of these seven natural methods.
How to prevent fruit flies
1. Wash your fruits and vegetables well as soon as you get home from the grocery store and avoid leaving them on the counter.
2. Wipe down any surfaces where food and drink may have spilled, especially after making a meal.
3. Regularly empty the trash and compost.
4. Place a few wine corks in your fruit bowl. The smell helps to keep flies away.

5. Fill a small glass or bowl with apple cider vinegar. Cover with plastic wrap and tightly seal with a rubber band. Poke a few holes in the plastic wrap using a toothpick or prongs of a fork. The flies will be attracted to the vinegar. Once they fly into the bowl through the holes, they won't be able to escape. If you don't have apple cider vinegar, use beer, wine, or a piece of fruit.
6. Mix apple cider vinegar with a little dish soap in a small bowl. Mix well. The soap will make the surface of the liquid too sticky to escape.
7. Place a piece of banana in the bottom of a glass. Make a paper cone and place it in the glass mouth down, The hole at the mouth of the cone should be very small. Flies will be able to get in but not out. Seal the cone to the glass with tape.
